Community Care and Support Worker - Falkirk & Bo'ness - £10.90

Ailsa Care Services currently have opportunities for Community Care and Support Workers with good availability to join our Care At Home Service covering the Bo'ness and wider Falkirk areas.

We welcome applications from drivers, however this is non-essential due to our care runs being within walking distance of all major bus routes, but applicants must be willing to travel.

Responsibilities and Duties

Working within our friendly team you will be responsible for a number of duties which may include the following: -

  • to provide person-centred support to service users in their daily lives including assisting with personal care of either gender. Personal care may include assistance with toileting / continence management and assisting clients to take a bath or shower/to get dressed/to get ready for bed
  • to provide support, including (but not limited to) meal preparation, budgeting, medication prompting, shopping, cleaning and laundry.
  • to provide support and encourage Service Users to engage in social activities, to maintain relationships with family and friends and to be as active in their community as they choose to be

This post is considered to be Regulated Work with vulnerable adults as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scotland (PVG) Act 2007. Successful applicants will be subject to a full PVG Disclosure.

You will also be required to be registered with the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) within the first 6 months of commencement in post. You must be qualified or working towards the relevant qualifications as detailed in the National Care Standards. Failure to attain the qualification required will exempt you from registration.

We are a living wage employer and pay a rate of £10.90 per hour. 

Contract length: Permanent subject to 6 month probationary period.
